| Your Personal Biography |
Patrick was born in 1967 in Anaheim, California. He has spent most of his life traveling the United States and abroad. Drawing on his youthful foray through the rain forests of Central America and the dramatic landscapes of Italy and New Zealand, Patrick’s rural landscapes evoke a quiet mystery and reverence. Every day places could be oceans away or a distant memory. “I love to reinvent landmarks and local scenes in a way that transcends their sense of place and time and reawakens the viewer’s emotional perspective.”
Patrick began painting at an early age and received recognition and awards for his work from the moment he started school. He studied fine art at Augusta College under the tutelage of such influential artists as Jim Rosen and Janice Williams, and was fortunate to have been accepted into their Italian study abroad program. Later, as Preparator for the Morris Museum of Art, Patrick became inspired by many of the great Southern masters like Elliot Daingerfield,
Will Henry Stevens and Wolf Kahn.
In 1993, Patrick established a successful art brokering partnership with friend and fellow art lover, Mary Kinzel Means. After an arduous stint in the local and corporate gallery scene, the two combined their shared passion for the arts and opened their own venue, Taylor Kinzel
Gallery, in 2003. Patrick soon discovered that without conflicts of interest and corporate restraints, his passion for painting was reignited. After his first one man show in 2007 and after a near sell-out show in 2010, Patrick’s work can now be found in galleries and corporate collections throughout the Southeast and was recently chosen for the DC, Houston, and Atlanta headquarters of Servcorp International.
