Artist Statement:
I was born and raised in
Boston into a family of
African-American artists. Art
has always been around me. I
create art because I am
compelled to, like breathing,
it is essential to my life. I
am continuously intrigued by
how things are put together. I
enjoy slowing my mind down to
contemplate the mysteries of
life. My artwork helps me to
be more centered and patient,
to appreciate the miracles of
nature, my talents and respect
my limitations.

My jewelry helps to energize,
bestow tranquility and
enhances the inner glow of the
adorned. I let the shape and
colors of a gem communicate to
me what metal it needs to be
combined with. Sometimes a
design is born from metal
shapes left over from cutting
out another design. Once in a
while a design comes to me in
a dream. Other times they
float in while engaged in a
mundane task.

In my music and poetry
creation, I am a channel.
Songs and poems come to me
while I’m asleep. They always
mirror my values of self-love,
happiness and self-reflection.
I mix together funk, jazz,
hip-hop, gospel, East Indian
music and more. Like a ...

Your Personal Biography Radiant Jasmin is a multi media visual and performance artist.

Her mediums are jewelry, painting, singing/songwriting, poetry, dance and theater.

She studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and The North Bennet Street School. She works in schools & community centers teaching art to elementary, high school & adult students.

As an art consultant on visual art projects in hospitals, she brings understanding of the art requirements in art & healing. She has helped initiate 2 unique surveys involving “children and art” and the “multicultural healthcare community and art” and has lead the teams evaluating this information.

Like a chef, she selects each art ingredient to complement and bring out the best in the others. Her art focuses on helping people to love themselves, each other and to respect the earth. It is autobiographical at times, deeply reflecting her study of yoga, midwifery and interpersonal relationships.
