Artist Statement:
I took my first influential
photograph in 1982, I was
twelve years old. There was
nothing like seeing my picture
on the front page of our
school paper. I felt elated.
I was also in awe. I quickly
fell in love with the shadows
in my photo. I had begun my
love affair with light. I
spent the next six years being
a photojournalist. I felt
then, as I still do that every
image has a story. I now
focus on a picture as pure
art, but every now and then I
will snap a shot just to
capture history. I see the
world frame by frame. Even
after tucking my camera safely
away, I continue to take
pictures in my mind. ...
