Artist Statement for Renata Lledias Martinez

|
|
I feature a series of paintings and prints based on events and experiences of everyday life. Recently changes in my life that made me learn and understand the lesson that I need to find new elements of recognition for who I´am and where I´m going.
The gestures and feelings I´m trying to capture, convey the best moments of recognition of my inner self, intermingled with a complete new experience. My work which is mainly figurative, draws us into a romantic, almost folk-tale world and with my Mexican heritage I want to achieve distinctive flavor to my work. Most of my paintings and prints are joyful, colourful and rarely enigmatic.
I found my own way of using form, colour and composition, to speak to the viewer directly, not about angst or pain, but about positive emotions, with a particular emphasis on a woman's life.
