| Why Did You Become An Artist |
For the past 33 years Janie McGee has created volumes of art telling the story of Black history in America. Her love for history began one summer on a project at the University of Cincinnati. She worked 10 weeks in the Harriet Beecher Stowe House creating mosaics depicting the Underground Railroad. That experience set a flame in her spirit to create images that tell the story of Blacks’ struggles, and triumphs in America. Her studio Black Revival produces fine art, décor, design, books, folk art, and art from the soul. |
