Artist Statement:
Abstract art for me projects the landscape and snapshots of memory and consciousness, two parts of a greater whole which is the spirit or soul. I believe that the physical world is only the surface of things. My paintings come from a place within me, unfiltered by stimuli manufactured in the physical world.
As a self-taught artist, I have found that non-representational work suits me best. Of course, certain forms find their way into my art as these objects/forms have made an indelible impression on my psyche. Likewise, brush strokes, scraping, rubbing and numerous other techniques that go into rendering a work is all part of the painting.
When a viewer looks at my work I want him/her to put away pre-conceived notions of reality; and, with any luck, realize that these landscapes and snapshots of the soul I paint are inside and out each and every one us.

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
Drawing is something I did for as long as I could remember. Then after the army, I dabbled with paints but until get serious about it until 11 years ago. I quit drinking so I needed something to fill my nights. I'm still sober and I never looked back. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I was born in Camden, NJ in the 1960s, served in US Army during the big 80s. Afterward, thanks to Uncle Sam downsizing the military, I was let out of the army early and went on to receive my BA in English from Rutgers University.
In addition to painting, I have written six novels, eleven screenplays and numerous short stories that have appeared in print.
