Artist Statement:
Reality is mutable and subjective.
I am the only one who sees the world the way I see it: the little things that catch my eye, the way I see color and light and shadow, the way color and smell and sound blend into a moment.
The things that connect us together are the times when we see things the same way. The times we notice a moment together.
My art is about creating that moment: my art is my reality as I see it, hear it, smell it, touch it and understand it. Some of my art may not touch you - but the art of mine that you see that "clicks" for you is a moment where we understand each other.

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I am a lover of art in all its forms. I love movies, the script, the acting, the cinematography, the directing, the design; theatre; photography; literature; philosophy.
I am a philosopher who doesn't write, but paints. My reality is what I paint and reality is formed by what you see and know and believe.
In essence: I am, therefore I paint. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I have always been an artist in that I grew up taking art classes and drawing. Professionally, I started scenic painting for theatres and fell in love with the medium of performance design. I went to undergrad for scenic and costume design. Through the course of learning the rendering techniques and ways of communicating for a designer, I learned more about color theory, drawing, painting, collaging and sculpting. I continue to work professionally in theatrical design while pursuing a career in studio art. |
