SCULPTURED PAINTINGS
COMBINING PAINTING, IMPASTO AND SCULPTURE IN A
CONTEMPORARY APPROACH TO LANDSCAPE PAINTING
ARTIST STATEMENT
My paintings are lush landscapes featuring SCULPTURED
PAINTINGS ( heavy dimensional impasto), with a road or
path theme exploring the majesty of trees. I combine both
paintbrush and pallet knife techniques, along with various
other painting objects, with sculpture and carving to
enhance the richly textured canvas. The brilliant layers
of colors and vibrant contrast create a calm, serene,
effect with an emphasis using a very contemporary
approach. My paintings invite you to be inspired by the
metaphor of the mystery and the journey of life and offer
a spiritual retreat to the viewer. 3-dimensional texture not
only enhances the boldness of the paint but also allows
the external light to impact upon my paintings.
