STUDIES/TRAINING
Classical painting at Barcelona College of Art, Spain.
Graphic Arts at the London School of Printing & Graphic Arts.
Abstract art at St.Martins School of Art, London, England.
Sculpture at Sir John Cass Studios, London.
CREATIVE DIRECTIONS
Early works were produced in classical style but quickly evolved into
modern art similar in direction to Pablo Picasso.
A period of experimentation and development followed with action
painting and pop art being the main genres.
Having spent five years working and exhibiting in New York, USA,
Waugh is now becoming established back home in Australia.
CURRENT WORKS
Currently working in his early genre of modern art where the influence of
Picasso was very pronounced, Waugh’s own original and distinctive style
now demonstrates a totally new development of content and presentation.
Many works depict the animal and human form in thought provoking
geometric shapes. The dramatic use of straight lines and circular parts
simplify form with the culminating effect that the strength of the
draughtsmanship is retained.
