Artist Statement:
Presented in a myriad of mixed medias and emotions, with modish
subjects and series, my work ultimately evokes poignant ruminations
on art in the streets, with new portrayals of hackneyed tourismo
topics, found rhapsodies in the everyday mundane scenes, and, by
looking ever so closely, finding buried beauty and covert charm where
no one is used to seeing it. Composition and color play a large part in unearthing the esoteric appeal and symmetry to be found in atypical
urban and landscapes . . .

| Your Personal Biography |
A Creative Director, Event Producer & Writer for companies from Puerto Rico to Montreal to Los Angeles. . .
Ronnie Caplan is a creative thinker whose sharp strategic mind is best put to use putting together new business pitches and proposals.
Ronnie has a solid background in design and creative direction, having cut his teeth in the event world, first with his own DJ rig, planning private parties and events in Montreal and Toronto, then as Creative Director at a series of consumer and trade magazines, ad agencies and PR firms.
Ronnie has since honed his skills and growing reputation as a creative force to be reckoned with, first as a partner and co-founder of Sensix Communications (Toronto) – one of the leading event producers in Canada – with his own consulting company and most recently as the Creative Director of one of the world’s largest event production companies, based out of Los Angeles.
Always looking for a challenge – and to create the most memorable happenings imaginable - Ronnie has produced many ambitious, effective experiential events and PR marketing programs, most notably:
• A jungle party smack dab in the middle of the El Yunque Puerto Rican rainforest for incentive winners from a large U.S. financial company
• The Golden Marble Awards Gala, celebrating advertising to children at Chelsea Piers in NYC
• A two-city simultaneous satellite product launch, effectively writing & producing a live television show that bounced back & forth between 1000’s of employees watching in both Ottawa and Toronto
• A Cirque de Soleil meets the Ice Capades-style show on an indoor artificial ice rink at the Banff Springs Hotel for a Japanese insurance company
• An Austin Powers / Groovy 60 / Burt Bacharach lounge-style party at The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art for a destination management company
• A Fire & Ice Cirque theme at The Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas for an international computer technology company’s branding sales conference
• The media launch for the TD Waterhouse merger
• All multimedia content for a pharmaceutical National Sales Meeting in Northern Ontario
• A 3-city Tourism Toronto Promo Tour / Road Show (Chicago, New York, Washington)
• A complete conference concept for a pharmaceutical company product launch, utilizing the entire city of Montreal
• Media Launches for Paramount Canada’s Wonderland, Lancome & Poeme perfumes
• The Sun Tzu-themed Canadian Marketing Awards Gala at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto and Incentive Awards Galas with Spanish and Cruise themes for a Canadian telecommunications company
Ronnie Caplan brings an extensive background in all aspects of corporate communications, with comprehensive experiences throughout North America, a mastery of establishing and nurturing relationships with clients, suppliers and teams of coworkers and especially non-conformal ideas that incorporate a unique fashion of creative thinking.
His fresh approach to alter the "same old, same old”, singular style of writing, boundless enthusiasm and energy and an uncanny ability to stay one step ahead and continuously offer the "NEXT big thing" sets him apart as an exciting personality to work with!
Always having his digital camera with him, Ronnie has finally decided to express himself beyond the realm of the stage, and from within the confines of experiential live events and corporate theatre . . . thus creating stunning, fantastical and wonderful, original works of art.
Ronnie's photos have been taken in LA, NYC, Montreal, Puerto Rico, etc, then transformed / variegated / modulated / altered on his laptop w/ Photoshop - the intent is to print right onto canvas and / or fine papers as limited edition (or mass-produced;) giclees. . .
Presented in a myriad of mixed medias and emotions, with modish subjects and series - Ronnie's work ultimately evokes poignant ruminations on art in the streets, with new portrayals of hackneyed tourismo topics, found rhapsody in the everyday mundane scene, and, by looking ever so closely, finding buried beauty and covert charm where no one can see it. Composition and color play a large part in unearthing the esoteric charm and symmetry everywhere. . . now portrayed in crazily- converted, FUN pop culture-oriented ways and means . . .
Ronnie Caplan's work fits into a wide variety of disparate environments, finishing off any desired ambience with distinctive nonpareil. . . his unique photo- paintings are proving extremely popular with a very wide audience demographic. |
