Artist Statement:
For a period of time now my
work as been centred around
painting and the possibilities
of this medium,im interested
in bringing together painting
with sculpture and how the two
can work together as a
conceptual exploration of
ideas.
Im interested in how paintings
can take on a life of there
own as they exist in real
time,ideas of movement,space
concealment and growth are
some of the ideas central to
the paintings.
The paintings run along side
other ways of working
ie.instalation text based work
and sculpture and i see all
these practices and methods i
use as all being linked buy
simalar concepts and workings
alot of the time the paintings
are created by each other a
natural progression of ideas
from one to the other the
process is very important to
the work and the work is
important to the process.
My continuing interest in the
minamilist object and concepts
is a continuing driving force
to the work,the work also
relys on metaphors for its
