HIS VOCATION
Schanz creates and transmits an alchemy which is generated as the world goes round. “I relate my work to German Expressionist paintings but equipped with a new meaning from the power of abstraction.”
His handling of colors, forms, textures, translucencies and sizes, try to transfer to the spectator, in a direct or unconscious way, to a world filled with concrete and imaginary things, where one can discover in a same image the beauty and the destruction forming part of a whole, perhaps like in a way to remind us, like humans, what all we took potentially in our inside and which never we get to dominate in absolute form.

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
HIS EXPERIENCE
20 years of Art (painting and digital), more than 10 years as an Architect, and 16 years as a visual designer, give him an ample knowledge of techniques and ways to face the challenges that his own life imposes on him in the different professional veins of which he is an innate possessor. His formation as an architect, with an outstanding trajectory, (worked as Secretary for public works of the Municipality of Sauce Viejo (Santa Fe -Argentina), Professor of the National University of the Litoral, of the National University of Rosario, among others.). This experience gave him the possibility of handling large and small sizes and spaces, and of course he knows how to handle scale. Like graphic designer (columnist of the Scala magazine, designer of interactive courses for remote careers of the UNL, publication designer of BICA Foundation), he acquired the sense of composition, color, propagandistic impact, which added to his style as an Artist, with techniques and fantasies such as creation tools, all of which molded well together.

| Your Personal Biography |
JAVIER SCHANZ, born in Santa Fe, Argentina. February 20th, 1966. Certified architect, graduated from the National University of the Litoral, Argentina. Schanz, who speaks five languages, specializes in urban planning and construction, graphic design and visual communication, having a Masters Degree in Color, Audio-visual Media, and Conceptual Art he has also studied photography, digital video, custom and set design. Post-graduate professor at his own alma mater, he has been Secretary of Urban Planning and Development of the Municipality of Sauce Viejo, Argentina, also held a position as a CEO in the project of integral renovation of Sauce Viejo creating a new image by highlighting and showcasing the value of its cultural symbols.
In the present time, Schanz works as an Architect and Designer, also creates installations and exhibits as a visual artist. Javier’s vision of art is reflected in a very particular way, since his brush strokes outline and imitate nature, as well as the environment that surrounds him. The feelings generated in a basic way live in everyone. In his architectonic vein and as a designer, we found that he manages to shape the opposition to that organic element of his artistic work, by means of rigid and structured forms, but without losing sight of the complement that each one of his creations has to the other. Basically, as in his art and as in his architecture work, we can see the beauty of simplicity.
