Artist Statement for Richard Sensenbrenner
"I love nature and the simpler side of things. I have an interest in what was, am drawn to the exotic and, like so many others, am searching for paradise. I haven't found it yet -- but tropical South Florida and the islands certainly seem en route.
I suppose that art is, among other things, my way of saying: I am here -- and this is how I see things."
Richard Sensenbrenner received his formal art training and BFA degree from Layton School of Art, Milwaukee, WI. He began his career as a graphic designer, evolved to creative management positions in sales promotion and consumer packaging, and established and managed his own successful advertising and point-of-purchase packaging design firm.
With a life long interest in fine art and the Impressionists, Sensenbrenner now makes painting his full time passion. His colorful acrylic paintings on canvas and wood substrates are often tropical in attitude. They reflect the exotic landscapes, coastal scenes, plants, wildlife and moods of Southwest Florida and the Keys.
