Artist Statement

ABIMANA ZIRAGABA César is a professional Fine-artist. Combining impressionism, futurism, surrealism and abstract art, he created an informal art in order to express the truth through enigmatic expressions.
Convinced that an artwork must be aggressive, that an artist must at all cost be original, the artist is determined to destroy the cult of the past, the obsession of the ancient, pedantry and academic formalism, in order to modify the artistic climate and to shock all artistic conceptions.
In order to reunify the Rwandan people, a self-made “Script-writer and drawer”, apparently untiring and particularly prolific, he also realized an album of seven cartoons depicting the actual events in Rwandan society.
