Artist Statement:
The world is full of beautiful sunsets, quiet lakes, majestic mountains, nostalgic streets and interesting people. I love the beauty of nature, the excitement of a city street and the diversity of people. I like to paint the world as it really is. Idealistic painting is pretty but I find beauty in things as they really are: a rock formations with it’s cracks and crags, an exposed tree root as it twists in and out of itself. Even man made things are beautiful: buildings, streets, bridges. I love the shape and color of buttons. Flowers and fruit offer a whole array of shapes and colors that dazzle the eye just as they are. I would like to share a little bit of it with others. I would hope that a beautiful or interesting scene will uplift and inspire someone to live better, smile more often and treat our world and other people with care and respect. I would love to share with others what God has so freely given to me. It is my hope that my artwork will bring peace and joy to those who see it and that each will enjoy and be grateful for the beautiful ...

| Your Personal Biography |
Lynette Seiter is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah and now resides in American Fork, UT. Lynette started painting at the age of 12, when she received an art kit for Christmas. She didn’t realize that she had a special talent for art until when in 9th grade she took an art class because she had a back operation and couldn’t take PE for one semester. The day that she had to check out of the art class and go back to PE, her art teacher said, “Do you want to see a grown man cry?”
She did a little painting, some sketching and working with pastels on her own while in High School. She attended Brigham Young University. After graduating with a degree in Child Development, she went back to BYU and studied Oil Painting.
She put the paints away for the next twenty years while she raised nine
children. When her last child was 4, she started painting again.
Her art studies include:
Oil Painting at Brigham Young University.
Community Education course in the Old Masters Style
Master Art Diploma from ICS
Plein Air Painting with Armand Cabrera
She enters juried shows occasionally. Some awards include:
“City by the Sea”, Honorable Mention, Ocean Shores Art Festival
“Salt Lake City 2002”, People’s Choice Award, Steel Days Art Show
She enjoys painting a variety of subjects. She has done portraits of her children and some commissioned portraits, landscapes of places she has been, or would liked to have been and interesting buildings. She paints in the realistic style and paints mainly from photographs she takes herself |
