| Your Personal Biography |
Shielaugh Victoria Divelbiss hails from the west side of Cranston centrally located in the small state of Rhode Island. She quickly found that she has a strange ability to draw. She took the next several years to hone her drawing skills under the instruction of Helen Poor and at the age of 15 her artwork began to appear in galleries in Providence, RI. At this same time she began teaching lessons to young children on Saturdays and coordinating special events at The Tsetse Gallery.
In 1999 she moved to Columbus, OH to attend the Columbus College of Art and Design with a Presidential Scholarship. Here she discovered her love for illustrating all things either dark and demented or cute and fluffy. In addition she learned her love of tedious things like typography, painting in gouache and discovered an eye for color styling. In 2003 she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her BFA and moved to El Cerrito, CA located 15 miles from San Francisco.
Here she spent her time studying at the Academy of Art University, and graduated with distinction, with her M.F.A in Traditional Illustration in 2006. Since then she has created logo designs, greeting cards, brochures and children's books for various companies and works as an art specialist for The City of El Cerrito. She hopes to one day be able to travel the world.
