Artist Statement:
Recommendation ::::
Japanese master Ryan's
abstraction with his super
flat expressions as
a originator.
Since remote antiquity, the
mask, attached to the face, as
a mysterious second skin,
continues to create the
illusion of reality, feeding
upon it and showing it diverse
forms.
He is very personal in his use
of cubism, in his planes and
technique. In the portrait,
the gesture predominates over
the face of the character
portrayed.
Shoda paints the gesture
sometimes with dramatic
intentionaly, like Hokusai.
At the age of sixty, Shoda has
already the mastery of an
authentic creator,
with an open mind to the world
and yet with the same passion
of the masters of long ago.
Now, the world needs to feel
his pure expression of the
humanbeings
in the days of we are not
knowing the way out from.

1946 Born in Kanazawa City Ishikawa Prefecture.
1966 Left for France.
1968 Returned to Japan.
1971 Graduated from Kanazawa Municipal Bijutsu Kougei Daigaku.(col lege of fine arts and craft)
1976 Awarded 3rd Best Prize,Shell Art Contest.
1980 Awarded Prize of Honorary Mention,Shell Art Contest.
1984 Japan International Art Exhibition.
Awarded Prize of Gunma Prefectural Museum of Modern Art.
1986 Left for The United States of America.
1987 Returned to Japan.
1992 Special Exhibition for Shoda,Ishikawa Prefectural
Museum of Art.(purchase)
1993 The 2nd International Contemporary Art Fair,Japan(NICAF)
1996 Peru Exhibition for Shoda,Lima National Museum,
