Artist Statement:
Recommendation ::::
Japanese master Ryan's abstraction with his super flat expressions as
a originator.
Since remote antiquity, the mask, attached to the face, as a mysterious second skin,
continues to create the illusion of reality, feeding upon it and showing it diverse forms.
He is very personal in his use of cubism, in his planes and technique. In the portrait,
the gesture predominates over the face of the character portrayed.
Shoda paints the gesture sometimes with dramatic intentionaly, like Hokusai.
At the age of sixty, Shoda has already the mastery of an authentic creator,
with an open mind to the world and yet with the same passion of the masters of long ago.
Now, the world needs to feel his pure expression of the humanbeings
in the days of we are not knowing the way out from.
