Artist Statement:

These new paintings are a
recording of current and past
events in my life. These
portraits are intimate and
personal interpretations of
self perception, love, and
religion.

The beliefs and fears
instilled in me from childhood
have influenced my self
disenchantment of the human
spirit. In the past few years
I have searched to free myself
from these preconceived ideas
and thoughts that have haunted
me for years.

During the past years of
detachment and alienation from
family, religion and
relationships have allowed me
to find an inner peace.

These paintings capture my
painful lessons and humbling
experiences as a woman and a
child.

Why Did You Become An Artist

Your Personal Biography I am the seventh of eight children in my family. Growing up I felt a bit lost in a large family I spent most my time outside in my dads junk yard building and creating “stuff” or building small environments were I could escaped from my brothers and sisters.
These impulses to create lead me to pursue a career in art. , I received my masters of art in 2002,From The University of North Carolina, Greensboro

I moved back to Texas in 2002 and have been working and striving to evolve my work and ideas.
