Artist Statement:
New York City is a source of inspiration for me because is never routine, there is always that contagious feeling of excitement, freedom, energy and unpredictability in the air. My work is mostly inspired in serendipity and an insatiable spiritual search. A basic but vital connection with the human condition and the observation of people in their environment. The objective is to visually capture unspoken metaphors and to document new stories by exploring society through the lens and granting the observer with their own distinctive visual experiences.

| Your Personal Biography |
I was born is San Juan, Puerto Rico and I currently live in New York with my family. My early childhood years were generally spent writing short stories and keeping a diary with pictures of my life (a photo journal). My first camera (a Polaroid) was given to me by my parents at the age of seven. It was a gift which I cherished for many years to come. Later on, I studied painting, sculpture, printmaking, and illustration at the Escuela Central de Artes Visuales (Central High School of Visual Arts) located in Santurce, Puerto Rico. At the age of eighteen, I moved to New York to earned a bachelor's degree in Media Arts (Photography/Filmmaking & Television Production.) from Pratt Institute. |
