Artist Statement:
Conversation with the Artist
How would you, the artist, characterize your magnificent paintings?
Well first, they’re not really MY paintings. In most art, the result is defined by, and limited by, the artist. In the techniques that I developed, I am more of an art “conductor”, like the conductor ...

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I needed some large abstract art for an office building and decided to create them myself. It took some time and a lot of effort but the result was good and I enjoyed the process so much that I decided to continue creating paintings and experimenting with the medium. |

| Your Personal Biography |
The artist, Ken Susnjara, is a successful entrepreneur and industrialist whose high-technology manufacturing company and engineering background introduced him to modern industrial materials and methods. When he built a new corporate office building that needed colorful abstract art, he began experimenting and a new art form was born.
The techniques he developed, modern as they are, use forms of the ancient elements, Earth, air, water and fire. The materials, thick liquids with suspended Earth minerals and metals, are poured over specially prepared canvas where the Earth’s gravity moves them in ever complex ways that could not possibly be reproduced by a person’s hand or an artist’s brush. The flowing material interacts with air, heat and gravity in a series of proprietary processes to create a truly outstanding art form. Art that is almost hypnotic.
Everything about this artwork is new… the material… the application… the techniques and the results. The artwork is on canvas, but that is about all it shares with traditional art. The materials are advanced urethane polymers, metallic, mineral and organic pigments, suspended in a sophisticated crystal clear medium. Used this way they have all the color, depth and brilliance of gemstones. These materials are used in sophisticated industrial manufacturing because they cure to stable, glossy, durable finishes with brilliant and beautiful colors and effects. But traditionally they are applied in thin even coats. They become something quite new and different when applied using artistic technique. They offer a tremendous new medium for artists, but are seldom used by artists because they require serious industrial equipment and technical knowledge seldom found in an artist’s studio. This new art form requires that the artist utilize advanced industrial systems and techniques to assure they can safely work with these modern materials. The technology, facility and equipment required to produce these amazing works is beyond a traditional art studio but is the only way to create these amazing masterpieces.
