Artist Statement:
My art is an attempt to take
my vision, emotion and
perspective and manifest it in
the physical world for others
to experience.
I have worked in many mediums
but have found working with
stone to be the most powerful
and expressive format to
express my creative thoughts.
You really have to slow down
and think when working stone.
The amount of time and effort
required to create a single
line or curve in rock with a
chisel, or grinder requires a
level of commitment not found
in most other mediums. I find
great beauty in simplicity and
minimalism and think that less
IS definitely more when trying
to clearly express a thought,
idea, or concept. I prefer to
create abstract forms rather
than figurative or
representational. I try to
make my work stimulating and
interesting on many different
levels. You will get as much
out of my art as you are
willing to put in. ...
