Artist Statement for Teresa Rodero Valero

|
Since I was a child I have liked to draw every piece of paper at hand, and for me that moment was like being in a different world, everything around me stopped.
As a teenager I discovered photography and macrophotography; and the time spent in the dark room was very pleasant seeing things appear on the paper, as they were being developed.
The next following years I was teaching Spanish to foreigners, but one day I realized that I wanted to continue drawing and painting, and here I am.
Now I am completly dedicated to the world of the Fine Arts.
I like to do my works by series, botannical, landscapes, sculptures, abstracts... one can see easily my evolution.
Perhaps looking through the lens of the camera has influenced my way of painting, and seeing the world as a theme to be interpreted. I may combine reality with photography, photography with computer and interior world etc, it depends on the mood.
Lately I have discover the possibilities that the computer offers to my work, I find it very useful to do my sketchs and then materialize them on linen or whatever the support may be.
Now I teach young people the use of the computer as another tool for drawing.
