| Your Personal Biography |
I was born in Ingiriya, Ratnapura Sri Lanka. After my A/L's I entered the Department of Aesthetic Studies, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Starting as a designer I worked in the Thulhiriya Textile Factory for two years. After that I joined as an Art teacher in department of education. I taught students of R/Udagama Central College Pinnawala, Balangoda and Gampaha Bandara Nayake National College. Now I am teaching Art for advanced level students of Ananda College, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
My work, based on Sri Lankan landscapes and society, is mostly devoted to bringing out the culture and traditions of the country. I am taking a subjective view of the world around me and derives inspiration from day-to-day life. Colombo, Galle, Gampaha and Anuradhapura had been some of the areas from which I have derived most of my inspirations.
