Artist Statement:
I was born in a small town
called Gore in the South
Island of New Zealand but
have lived most of my life in
Wellington (known to some of
you as Middle-Earth, from Lord
of the Rings), which is the
capital city and cultural
centre of New Zealand.
Now... for some artistic
wording on my paintings, if
you don't understand the
following sentences don't
worry, just look at the
paintings and enjoy them!
My works are painted in an
abstract landscape or
figurative style featuring the
strong use of colour and depth
which give off the sense of a
natural and organic
environment. I like the viewer
to be able to relate to the
works, seeing what they can
decipher from each piece and
in turn forming their own
personal impressions. Although
most of the pieces aren't
based off a real world object
I am most often inspired by
natural landscapes. I usually
start with a rough composition
and/or a particular colour I
want to experiment with, once
the major theme is decided the
painting usually 'completes
itself'....

Welcome to Kerry Kenneally's Portfolio.
