Artist Statement for Anita Thomhave Simonsen
|
|
|
I´m mostly working with paper, handmade paper, which i do myself and which i also buy. I make vessels or bowls and I´m interested in making them different from each other, so the experience is greater for both the viewer and for myself, when i make these artworks.
I try to make the expression of the bowls be tactile and simple, not cool and minimalistic. I find a lot of associations to nature in the bowls and it might be the surrounding in which I live, that creeps into the expression.
