| Your Personal Biography |
1972
Born in Douala in Cameroon, Toric Michael was infected by the virus of Art since he was 4. He was then delighted to express the visions of his young mind by drawing with a stick on the ground. A special kind of Art with no colour nor shades, where only the shapes make the artwork. This is how a few years later, the Artist succeeded in combining numerous styles and influences to realize authentic works of his own. Inspired by his native environment, his style translates the emotion and the culture of his people. Wild and soft, his main colours are Yellow, Gold, Ochre, Sienna, Brown, Red, Violet, Blue and Green, helping him to express the anger, the beauty, the splendour and the heat of our wonderful planet.
The many exhibitions made in various countries such as Japan, Italy, France, Burkina Faso, Netherlands, Germany and Cameroon, the many rewards in Art competitions and festivals are a testimony of the particularity of the Artist, even though his most famous paintings remain “Jazz burns the scene” (1999) and “Melancholy and harmony” (2000).
The necessity of being always updated leaded Toric Michael to travel easily and positively from shades to lights, from Realism to Surrealism with a sunny flavour, using the colours to scream, laugh, cry, sing, dance, love, rejoice, mourn, comfort, congratulate and denounce with a perfect harmony
