Artist Statement:
These pieces are from a new series of work that deals with the idea of multiple realities. I decided to create this series because of the desire to examine how humans deal with paranormal believes and situations in the 21st century.
To create these drawings, I referenced various memories, which then brought about a series of questions regarding popular religious beliefs concerning the phenomena of apparitions. I began writing my thoughts on this matter, working more like a writer than a painter. I used my notes as conceptual material (they were heavily influenced by quantum theory, multi-dimensional realities, and my fascination with holograms). I then began to draw my notions on the matter. For these series I wanted to use colors that convey a sensation of fantasy, therefore I decided to use bright bold colors. I am particularly interested in the areas of the collective subconscious, mental hallucinations, and mass delusion; and because of this, I decided to create a body of work that would examine the effects of the phenomena on the human condition.

| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
My biggest artistic inspirations are women and color.
The form of art that I use to better express myself is painting. I think it is a great instrument of expression and documentation. When I need to express something that I find very difficult to communicate I simply paint it. I use art to express myself through continued self awareness and reflection. I try to pay close attention to how I think and how that changes over time. I gather memories, thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and feelings from a specific time in my life and I document it with paint. I find it a bit difficult at times because it is almost like keeping track of the precise moment when you fall asleep. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
At age fifteen, I was introduced to impressionism (19th century French painting style) and became fascinated with the art and lives of its pioneers. The free brush strokes, the excessive paint on the canvas, and the vibrant colors were all part of what caused me to pick up a brush. My first paintings were done in that tradition, and since then I have progressed to my own style. As the years pass by, I try to understand a little more about myself (such as why and what to paint). All I know so far is that I can't stop.

| Your Personal Biography |
I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and I am the youngest of ten. At age nine, my parents brought me to the United States.
I became interested in the arts at a young age, and I made sure to always make time for them. Painting, music, and poetry played a major role in my life. I did not agree with the teaching methods of public schools, and I left to attend a local Catholic institute of theology. It was during this time that I began to focus more on a professional career in art. |
