Artist Statement:
My abstract art is the process of emptying and meditating. The art itself is the process of self-transformation. Akin to shedding skin, letting go of the surface layers that get in to way of seeing. It's a process of renewal. Moving forward and leaving the old skins, the old self behind. Visual art and writing have long been my means of release, letting go and gaining perspective. Four years ago, I was reading my journal and realized that my best writing was there, hidden away. Raw, real and unedited. Words, ideas and images that had to 'get out' written in every direction, squashed onto the pages, creating shades and shadows. So that's when I saw it.
