An Artist /Educator/Publisher/Producer/Ar tificer
Born in a northern suburb of Detroit, Michigan. The mechanical, artistic and creative ability of Donald J. Davenport was first recognized at the age of five. By the age of 13 he received a Silver award at the Tennessee Tech College annual arts exhibit in 1960. By the age of 20 he was already an accomplished commercial and fine artist. Davenport is listed in four separate categories in the Millennium Edition of Marquis Whos Who in America for his diverse achievements in Video & Film Producing, Publishing, Inventing and Educating.
Through his mid twenties and early thirties, he worked in several diverse fields producing commercial, graphic and fine art for international corporations. His abilities include experimental developing and designing new concept devices, producing instructional visual technical trade curriculum programs for Video Educational Art Services in the visual arts. Davenport founded The Gemini School of Art and Design in 1981.
His multiple careers continued to develop with publishing technical trade manuals for instruction in the visual arts and producing visual art programs by which he received an International SILVER award from among 27 competing countries at the Television International Film Festivals, New York, 1994 for ...

I was born with the several gifts. One which was art and a love for mechanics in drawing from the beginning age of five years old which started with the drawing of a tree with its many branches like the old Catalpa tree that grew in the front yard of my home. |

Born in a northern suburb of Detroit, Michigan. The mechanical, artistic and creative ability of Donald J. Davenport was first recognized and evaluated at the age of five. By the age of thirteen he received a gSilverh award from Tennessee Tech College during ita annual arts exhibit in 1960 for a rustic charcoal depicting and old train yard. At the age of 15 he was designing concept cars and drawing technical illustrations for competition and scholarships from Fisher Body Division or General Motors Division. By the age of twenty he was already an accomplished commercial and fine artist promoting such companies as Alcoa Aluminum, Kodak, Chesterfield Tobacco and the Department of Natural Gas. Davenport is listed in four separate categories in the Millennium Edition of Marquis Whofs Who in America for his diverse achievements in Producing, Publishing, Inventing and Educating.
Through his mid twenties and early thirties, he worked in several diverse fields producing commercial, graphic and fine art for broadcasting companies and international corporations. He was an experimental designer and developer for Model Products Corporation where he designed & developed experimental concept novelty devices and propulsion toys. During this period he founded the Gemini School Of Art and Design, a technical trade school with a visual arts curricular in the automotive and sub related industry. As an instructor Mr. Davenport has educated over thirteen thousand individuals, provided world wide job placement and also provided in plant training programs for the Ford and Chrysler workers offered through ETAP and UAW, in Macomb, Wayne and Oakland County.
His multiple careers continued to develop with the publishing of art related technical trade manuals and producing visual art programs by which he received an International gSILVERh award from among 27 competing countries at the Television International Film Festivals, New York in 1994. He has also received several gFirst Placeh awards from exhibits and competitions through out the country. Including gBest Of Showh awarded by Detroitfs Auto Rama 50th Anniversary, also First Place Vantasia and First Place Cycle Rama. While developing his skills in the automotive custom painting industry he developed and implemented curriculum programs for the School of fine and airbrushing arts, where he instructed in painting and teaching automotive ornamentation in custom painting. As an author and published, Davenport published technical trade manuals to teach custom finishing techniques for Ditzler Paint Company a fortune five hundred a division of PPG Industries, Pittsburgh Plate Glass. Davenport has also been recognized for his creative and ingenuity developing products and devices for companies like Kelloggfs, K-Mart, Seven Eleven, Bulk Foods and Paasche Airbrush company,
Director and founder of Gemini School Of Art and Design 1981, he has taught over 13,000 individuals and job place world wide its graduates. In addition he provided in plant technical training programs for instructing automotive certificate painting programs for UAW workers in Ford and Chrysler Factories.
As an accomplished Master Fine Artist Davenport combines mixed medium in his paintings to create and express extreme realism using lacquer, gold leaf, glass jeweled facets and hand gilded enhancements. From intriguing surrealistic images depicting a clear symbolist edge, to painting enhanced contemporary realism, Davenport illustrates the art of painting at its finest. His work has recently showcased at the International Art Expo, New York, NY.
As a producer in the film and video industry, International Award Winner Davenportfs ability and creative skills earned him an International Award from among 27 competing countries at the International Television and Film Festival. His creative skills and diverse applications sets him apart from other entrepreneurs. He brings several elements into the box which create intriguing, captivating and dynamic realism to promote both product and company.
Davenportfs interest in technology allows him to explore the educational applications of interactive virtual reality for teaching world wide distant learning curriculum and apply it in real time to educate, market and further the development of individuals in industrial, fine and commercial art.
