Artist Statement:
In Rajasthan, India, where my
roots are, is a mix of vibrant
colours and patterns within
them; which is a combination
of qualities, acts,
tendencies, etc., forming a
consistent or characteristic
plan. Looking at these
patterns started with use of
camera and then computer and
all forms of tech gadgets
(scanners, printers, and
digital cameras). This gives
me sense of creation and a
deep perspective within the
lives of people I see. The
imagery I capture, invites me
again and again to go back and
confine more, as I believe
every time there is a new
story out there.
It all started with a digital
assignment, which inspired me
to utilize the medium and thus
came the inspiration to
further explore and create.
The favourite thing about
digital art is the endless
possibilities of creation
(many times with small
surprises), which provide
blueprint for new ideas. It’s
like a pot taking shape on a
potter’s wheel, a small
pressure and the shape starts
changing; “Idea from an Idea”,
which gives new meaning to the
original/existing image. Every
image has a story (long or
short). Transforming this
story in a new episode is what
I like, giving a ...

Welcome to Vikas Swarankar's Portfolio.
