Artist Statement:
As statement I paint ...and
make images.. what ever the
tool or medium.. All the time
with innate sensibility
to my environment and as
celebration of being alive and
having life....and its
vivacious sensuality...
Flat or dimensional, with
whatever medium or tools,
whole act should be an
enriching experience for me
and
on looker, and an increment in
my experiential data and
pleasure, and in turn my
sensitivity. And If I am unit
of
this world, World would be one
unit more sensitive.
As such I wish, I knew why I
make these images...probably
any field I would be in I
would relate it to my quest
for life and its
manifestations........love,
hate, surviva,l
death..........................
Recently I am into
digital drawing and paintings.
Mediums too real quality makes
images more un real
and essential, hence more
graphic and sensual. It is
delight and reaffirmation of
human senses and its
celebration of being alive and
functioning day to day in this
mechanical and over powering
intellectual world.
(Computer/printer) are nothing
but tools...for image
generations, and images are
sensually felt and are mine..'
Earlier training and work
had been more formal... but
elitists feel about it ...

sheer pleasure of painting has it seems lost it's footing in indian contemoprary painnting.
most of the artist paint away issues and treat painting as tool to escape from living and being or bla bla.
virendra's image making offers respite and breath of fresh air.he has started showing his work only after,what he calls spell of de-schooling.all he strives to achive is innate sensuality in his surrounding,inavitaable for artist who has lerned more from works of both Matisse and Haward Hodgkin.also strong sense of almost trible pictorial language is made palatble by his own Guru K.G.Subramanyan.
It is delite and reaffirmation of human senses and its celibration in being alive in this mechenical and over pawering intelectual world.
His computer generated images also never deprives you of sensual pleasure and experiences - He rightly say's :
