Artist Statement for Vivian Linder

|
My work is a gesture attempting to capture the feeling of oneness in everything that exists. In my paintings different cultural traditions are blended and rearranged; the result is a fusion of frontiers and borders. Another focus has been powerful woman in tribal societies where nobody was considered "an obscure object of desire"
I try to go back in history to arrive to that moment when the first petroglyphs were created. In this age of numerous technological ways of sending messages, I try to return to the primordial ancient images, which were buried with the advent of industrialization.
