Artist Statement:
A splash here, a line there,
maybe a background, maybe
foreground and, in all
honesty, I just don't know.
This is my style. Each
canvas, board, or paper
carries its own story, its own
emotions, and its own
uniqueness. Like Jackson
Pollock, I lay my surfaces
flat on the floor, covering
them with rhythmic colors of
acrylic paint. Different from
Pollock in that my pours
become forms, not just
splatters, and my drips are
whimsical, controlled lines.

Originally from Baltiomre,
Maryland, I moved to
Anchorage, Alaska in 1970.
Majoring in Art, I attended
the University of Alaska
Anchorge 1970-1975. In 1990 I
began displaying my paintings
professionally in various
Alaska coffee shops, offices,
and selected galleries.

Water based tempera was my
first medium of choice. Now I
use acrylic and sometimes
acrylic latex paint. In 1993
I released three limited
edition serigraphs.

My art is forever changing.
It has gone from Peter Max's
hard edged style, to
uncontrolled Pollock drips, to
Vonnie's quick, bold,
whismical lines and forms. It
may also appear dense with
layers of color topped with
choppy, uneven scrapes,
strokes, and drippings. Some

abstract others consider it as
