Artist Statement:
Through the use of light I attempt to interpret my experience of nature. I am drawn to the dramatic lighting found at the begining and at the end of the day. The particular lighting sets the mood for the painting. Time of day holds emotional and spiritual possibilities. Nature becomes a spiritual entity and a source for artistic energy. The images are fashioned from from memory and imagination implying landscapes not necessarily seen but felt. My work is grounded in a persspective associated with landscape, rather than mirroring the outside world I look inward to bring closer the hidden identities and layered relationships that are reflective of the inner experience.
