THE ART OF ZARUM AND FINDING THE NEXT ART MASTERPIECE ONLINE
So many art sites have popped up in recent times and many are good. These sites generally offer art lovers a window in which to view new and exciting artists. They posses more art of varied styles and talent levels than any art exhibition can attempt to exhibit under a conventional roof.
For me the most exciting element of this journey of discovery of new art is coming across a piece or body of work that stops me with the force of a hammer on a nail, when a painting jumps out from the screen and suddenly there is no peripheral vision only an intense focus on the work. This does not happen that often but it does happen.
Recently I was browsing the immense Saatchi art site. I came across many interesting works and many that were frankly boring or obviously the work of amateurs. When I took the time to read some articles in the blog section of the Saachi site I came across one titled ‘ZARUM AND THE $70 MILLION DOLLAR SECRET: HOW ART IS VALUED AND WHICH ARTIST TO KEEP AN EYE ON.’ I agreed with the premise of the writer about art valuation and was curious who this artist the writer was focusing on. I clicked the link to his website and was immediately awash with bright colors and the most interest paintings I have seen in many years.
The work is the most original, fresh and vibrant I have seen in at least the last 10 years. I read some other news clips written about Zarum that were linked through the site. I then did a Google search on Zarum and found much more information about this artist and his work. I inquired through the Zarum site email link about a painting I would truly love to own, but it was far more than I could afford. I was, however, told to read the special announcement link on the main Zarum page, www.zarum.net and discovered that owning one of his works had just been made easier for those with less than hefty bank accounts.
Apparently, aware that many of his followers can not afford his original large canvas works, Zarum is releasing a limited series of 25 smaller sized original works that people like me can afford. I don’t know how many were sold before I put myself on the buyer list, but one thing is for sure…there is one less than the original 25 available and I have found a masterpiece mining the internet art sites.
