| Your Personal Biography |
After studying art at the Norwich School of Art & Design I was very fortunate that my first exhibition caught the eye of a renowned publishing house and set me off on a very successful illustrating career.
My love of nature in particular flowers and birds has had the most influence on my work. As well as sketching in the local countryside I take photographs at zoos and wildlife sanctuaries. This reference material I then use in my studio to create intimate portraits of the natural world.
My still life’s are set up in the studio and usually feature flowers, blue & white china, crystal and lace. I have recently gained a diploma in botanical illustration which has led to a new passion for painting plants in minute detail, however I also enjoy painting landscapes and wildlife in a looser more expressive technique.
