Artist Statement:
Painting and drawing have
accompanied mankind since the
stone age and they will never
lose their primary importance,
like the wheel and
fire.Artists or critics
declaring them dead - and I
heard some say so - don't
realise that some things are
eternal.They change, but never
disapppear.I could live
without performances or
installations, but wouldn't be
myself without painting.With
every stroke of brush I come
back to the magic moment some
50,000 years ago when a cave
man put a smouldering stick to
the rock and drew the outline
of a bison. That experience is
irreplaceable.
