Artwork Description:

Based on a live model in my studio, I carved this wall-hung sculpture from nine blocks of English Lime-Wood and mounted them in a painted plywood frame. The nine individual carvings are not permanently fixed to the frame so the arrangement of the pieces can be changed if desired or they can be individually wall-hung in any arrangement of your choice. I find that the natural beauty of wood complements the soft curves of the feminine figure perfectly and the smooth finish invites the viewer to caress the sculpture. The carved blocks have been varnished to protect them from dust and fingerprints and to achieve a smooth matt finish that invites you to caress them. Being carved by hand with traditional tools each sculpture is completely unique. All of the nine wooden blocks and the frame are individually signed by the artist and a Certificate of Authenticity is provided with this piece.
