Artwork Description:

Toothpick Sculpture titled Gold Over Sin. This piece contains over 6,500 small narrow toothpicks. Each toothpick had to be individually cracked in 2-places then glued together to form a small thorn. This process is extremely time consuming but rewarding to me as a sculptor. Each individual thorn contains 6-10 toothpicks. When completed the cross was covered in 4-layers of heavy adhesive. When dried 4-coats of high gloss gold paint was applied which gives the entire piece a molten gold appearance. This piece took over 325 hours to sculpt and construct.
