Welcome to J. Todd Allison's Portfolio. The most certain statement I could possibly make about my work is that it is saturated with the hunt. Increasingly it is filled with a profusion of imagery from my observations, social interactions and intellectual explorations. My daily journey through the suburban, urban, digital and industrial landscape provides for a multitude of brief visual encounters and all go to question my sense of place and being. I often find myself deconstructing and restructuring my visual experiences only to combine them with modified views and experiences within the visual landscape. The ordinary and sometimes not so ordinary signs, which are observable in our physical, technological and social landscape are consistently what I find myself scouring through. These signs are vaguely familiar and unresolved due to the relationship they share in their particular surroundings. The results of my efforts serve as narrative spatial consumptions that call attention to the conflict of visual information. I find that this un-resting point serves as a visual allegory for where we are today.... |
