Welcome to Wendy Thompson's Portfolio.
Painting has always been a part of me; I am constantly challenging myself to create the next chapter in my life in my painting. Creating something on a blank canvas that turns into something that someone will treasure gives me a sense of exhilaration.
Painting is always for me about exploring the depths of my own imagination. I like to feel my paintings come to life with the use of strong colours. The colours are an illustration of my feelings, interpreting each scene with the use of strong vibrant colours helps me express something of myself into the canvas. I like to create in my paintings life and for viewers to feel a sense of belonging, creating feelings and emotion when viewing each canvas connects individual memories to life.
The Move to Gloucestershire
Moving to Gloucestershire is a complete change of scene for me. I had often admired photographs of the Gloucestershire landscape but when I visited for the first I was captivated by the joy of living on the edge of the Cotswold’s.
