Artwork Description:
... neutral light.. yet when you turn the glass piece around.. from each little angle, different hues laugh at you.. so many on there.. am stoked, i achieved so called break-through effect.. means.. dusting on layers of different chosen colored glass (transparent grape, sunset orange, berryl green ?, then there is woodrose, fire reds, pine, grass and other greens, 3 or more different whites.. many powder hues mixed.. and opaques and trans-parents played with.. yes.. and the transparents layered, break from beneath through .. and this wonderful natural affect breaks up monotony opaques to me sometimes have.. yesss.. when really truly stick with opaques, is cool too.. BUT, I didn't.. since months try to get somewhere, by being stubborn.. with experimenting, as if glasspowders would react like paints.. they do.. and they do not.. soon as the intense heat from kiln get to them.. and liquifies the glass.. it just puts hey a gotcha thing in there for me.. which challenges me even more.. so.. I am getting where I want to be with this one. Just a little more work- and that is it.. and gheeze.. what a weight !! and still like the beveled edge.. THANKS to Glenn Briggs, who helped so much, putting my work in kiln.. flattening afterwards.. and to Alan- who helped with that too.. and Dolly, our so great instructor.. and Bess Reide, the glass on copper artist.. and more, who threw a tip off and on in my direction.. and Pauline- my most effective critic, as well as assist and suggest friend and fan.
