My work typically uses rather barren urban landscapes and interiors as vehicles to portray an introspective and contemplative response to the mundane and commonplace. I put an emphasis on the drama of light and shadow, which serves partly to describe form, but which also becomes a metaphor for the passage of time and of our fleeting existence.
