Artist Statement:
Florian Liber’s body representations are primitive with ritual energy. Layering color near color, he paints suddenly, emptying his emotions and feelings onto canvas. He leaves graphic marks, drips of paint, scratches and scribbles as evidence of the physical act of painting. Contemporary subjects are explored using raw emotions of archaic processes to create a sense of uniqueness.
Located in the heart of the Montreal Museum district, The Contemporary Arts Gallery features major Canadian and international painters and sculptors such as: Jean-Paul Riopelle, Karel Appel, Victor Vasarely, Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, P.E. Borduas, Pierre Alechinsky, Jean McEwen and many others. ...
