  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Stephanie Hayden - My work varies in style, i try to capture moments of my life on different canvases, from watercolours, acrylics, to montages, sculpture and my photography. Much of my work is dark & disturbing and i can attribute it to the fact that until recently i was registered blind, legally, having been born with dislocated lenses. The more vibrant & colourful works are from my later period after i had surgery to implant interocular lenses, thus i now see the world in a totally different way. This can be seen across my portfolio....

Roger Farr - Born in Much Wenlock Shropshire, England 1957.One of 14. My family life and upbringing was in the countryside. Always having a love for wildlife and animals, Archibald Thorburn,Fenwick Landsdowne,Raymond Harris Ching,David Shepherd,Rembrant and Mary Cassat were great influences in the early stages and latter stages of my work, this was complimented with having a grandfather who was an artist and a father who was a gamekeeper. Much of my work was self taught up to the age of 18, this was when my first sale of original paintings took place in Salt Spring Island, Canada.Bought by a collector of wildlife paintings who had noticed my work through a member of my family who lives there. In 1985 I started to work for Shropshire Trust For Nature Conservation, providing illustrations of wildlife subjects for schools and colleges. My work started to be recognised and other opportunities arose including other wildlife and community based projects. Whilst visiting Shropshire Conservation Group one day, David Attenborough commented that I should develop this skill further. So in 1993 after a four year course I obtained a BA(Hons) in Visual Communication, specialising in Illustration at Wolverhampton University. On graduating ...

Dario Raffaele Orioli - A painting, statue or other work of art speaks best for itself, without superfluous words, but to say a few words about my opinion about art. Art allows us to live, differently at different periods stages of life. Different already in character, temperament of each individual. Through art I seek man Of course, many painters run away from looking for a man because it is a painstaking job, so it is easier for them to end up in abstractions, concepts, etc. under the pretext that it is modern.Abstraction is a trip to the unknown, but after many years of such a trip to the unknown, one gets tired and realizes that he needs the peace and stability he can find in the knowledge of the world around him, which is right outside of him and if he knows how to look, he can think through it enjoy it here and now There is a saying that every living being is a snapshot of nature towards man, this can be applied to art ....Any abstraction is an artists shot at figuration.... Of course it can be the other way around, but what a world this would be if it were ...

Nancy Overbury - Nancy Overbury is an illustrator who primarily paints watercolor or oil landscapes. Her watercolour paintings are built from wet in wet washes, followed by successive layers of glazing. She is entirely self-taught in the watercolor medium, and has spent the last 15 years refining her skills as a watercolorist, carrying on the tradition of artists in the family including her father Ken Overbury. Overbury is inspired by nature's splendor and the fascinating effects of light. She believes in experiencing Nature by exploring forests and mountain ranges in order to add depth and emotion to her works....

Nancy Overbury - Lesta Frank - I paint the figure, color drenched in layers of metaphor. My work is about showing people experiencing moments of Self awareness and inner connectivity to our true nature. The excitement and awe found in creating art is a life-long continuation of my first adventure with finger painting as a young child. I am interested in combining realistic imagery with abstract shapes, in a shallow picture plane , The painting surfaces are enriched with layers of texture and pattern, using combinations of watermedia and collage, and the use of stencils, stamps and epoxy resin. ...

Michelle Scott - Michelle Scott has been a visual artist since the 4th grade when her teacher introduced her to its "magic". She attended American River College in Sacramento and Art Center College of Design in Pasadena majoring in Illustration. Please visit her personal website at:

Diana Millerpierce - I am attracted to scenes involving strong clear light, that will cast strong shadows for subject matter. I look for a composition of strong dark and light patterns to create a dynamic tension and energy in a painting. My work is drawn from realism of nature, but the overall pattern creates a great deal of abstraction. Color is planned to enhance the tensions and drama in my overall compositions. I hope my paintings help the viewer arrive at a different perspective of the world and its beauty....

Hanne Lore Koehler - The unique contemporary style, a sort of impressionistic realism, of Canadian artist, author illustrator, Hanne Lore Koehler has developed naturally in her watercolors, oil and acrylic paintings. Choose from a wide range of subjects including action-packed sports art, energetic portraits, landscapes, still life, fantasy and children's book illustrations or commission a custom painting. "I have splashed powerful action sports on watercolor canvases for the Canadian Olympic Association and stroked a gentle brush to capture elusive moments of light and mood on oil canvases for private and corporate collectors. My subjects are as varied as my interests and I adjust my style to suit the mood of my subjects but the finished painting always exudes my love of life. I try always to remain true to my objective and motto: to satisfy the eye with form, the mind with purpose and the soul with imagination". ...

Charles Edmunds - Due to AbsoluteArts...I have been much more visible on the Web...and for this, I am grateful. CharlesofCharleston See More of my Paintings: Below at Charles ART LINKS See Charles at ShoreAcres State Park

Richard Wynne - Richard is an acclaimed International Artist recently returned to the USA. Richard has lived in many Countries. "The last being Thailland. He started his art studies at a very young age at the John Herron Art Institute In Indianapolis, Indiana and then later at the Art Institute of Chicago Richard has lived in many countries, painting, and playing music. Mr Wynne has exhibited in Thailand, the United States, Spain, Argentina, Kuwait, Korea, Ihdia, and other Countries. Sometimes perhaps I say too much about my self but maybe it helps people understand what motivates my work. For your information I've lived in 8 different countries and have been around the world 5 times. I speak a few different languages, some very well; others not so well. By the way I am not a workaholic as I don't consider what I do work. I enjoy life too much. I forgot to say I am also a weight lifter as lifting weights is my Zen. When I am troubled the concentration it takes to lift makes me calm. I guess my page will probably be a little different from what people expect. Sorry I have not been uploading new work as ...

Clovis Aquino - Painting Watercolours is a great moment for me, its when my inner world comes out and I show myself without masks. I try to transmit my "romantic" feeling through my paintings . I paint landscapes but also abstract or informal subjects. My oils are most of the time Masters' Copies, it's a moment for learning and increasing my approach to art, but it's also a challenge with myself and a way for me to give tribute to the great artists of the past. I'm also fascinated of a person's stare, a portrait is something special and unique for me because I can paint someone's portrait only when I can catch his/her stare and related expression, that's the same for my imaginary portraits. Being born in Brazil, and now living in Rome, gives me a opportunity of touching the Past, living the Present and getting ready for the Future at the same time...the Eternal City...that's my research of Life=Art! ...
