Durre Waseem - Durre Waseem of Corona, a native of Pakistan, has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Punjab University and taught for 10 years at various colleges in Pakistan. Durre moved to the United States in 2001 and became a full time painter. She paints portraits and plein air in oils, pastels, watercolor, ink, and acrylics and captures the local colour of both the people and the place of wherever she may be. Her bold, colorful brushwork and loose impressionistic style effectively capture the energy and feeling of her subject and establishes a direct line of communication with the viewer. Her inspiration is usually an ordinary object, how its identity is defined by its environment, and how it becomes apart of its surroundings. Durre has participated in many national and international exhibitions both in Pakistan and the U.S. ...

Claire Petit - In my work, beings of dream and intimacy migrate slowly to the merry-go-round of birth, death, and rebrith. Different periods and series rub shoulders in my decades of paintings. Duality breathes deeply, and from one life to the next, powerful feminine energy dominates moving, introspective, multiple, often wrapped in a gentle violence. Connie Chadwell - I have always loved to draw the face and figure. If I'm not actually drawing from the posed model or sketching people going about their everyday lives, I'm probably thinking about it. I seldom miss an opportunity to draw or paint from life and I strive every day to capture not just a likeness of my subjects, but also the more elusive qualities of spirit, mood and emotion. ...
Mario Cossu - I believe that another reality exists and that we can see it only with the eyes of the child who is inside of us. So I set free my mind and let the brush go on the canvas, translating my dreams, allucinations, mysterious presences, images of subconscious into oil paintings....
Mario Cossu -
Iana Sophia - In my work I strive to create a fusion of traditional and experimental, figurative and abstract visions to arrive at a texture, an implication of a landscape, where the familiar dissolves into mostly impressionistic colour fields or configurations with physical, emotional or even cosmic ramifications. Iana Sophias art pulsates between the seen and envisioned, the figurative and abstract. Inspired by a mystical sensitivity and an appreciation of nature, these paintings draw the viewer into a place of contemplation, where the secrets of the work begin to unfold.A(c) DLS ...

Brikena Berdo - I cannot say what really led me to painting. I guess it is related to that inner desire which has made me express myself in this visual language. But what has mostly marked my art and driven me towards endless research is composed of notions such as the sense of time, childhood, human psychology and nature. I think, for some artists, it is true that what they have sought for in their art is something they have missed during their own life, a lack of anything from the real world of ours. I grew up in a aEURoegrey countryaEUR. I lived under a dictatorial regime until the 90aEURtms, which was followed by a transit period of destruction. Hence, so little has been inherited by the previous system. As a result what I perceived of those times came in colourlessly, greyish and meaninglessly in all aspects. It did not make sense at all. The absence of colours led to a hungriness and craving for greens and blues and yellows etc. This thirst for colours found expression later greatly and strongly in my paintings. I love colours and they are important, sometimes more than shape. I like to impose myself through ...
Anne Schwartz - My newest collections, entitled Zoom and A Journey Through Infinity, reflect my artistic exploration of the infinite cosmic history. I am known for pushing my palette of vibrant, and often translucent, colors to the limit, drawing out the vivid hues of nature. My paintings draw upon the earth's energy in a dangerous and imaginative drama. The paintings launch the viewer from under the earth's surface into the solar system and beyond. I explore my own consciousness to create a kind of landscape of energy and emotions. One color plays on the last, changing and twisting to form the contrasts of light and dark. Bright colors burst forth against the dark background, sending the viewer into a dazzling world of exploding stars, swirling gas planets, and our own earth. My collection A Journey to Infinity is oil on canvas. My collection Zoom is mixed media on canvas and paper. I am located in Pacific Palisades, California, and work in oil, collage and other forms of mixed media. Artist Bio Anne Brawer Schwartz has exhibited her mixed media paintings in numerous group shows throughout Los Angeles County. In 2010, her work was published in the coffee table book "Santa Monica," ...
Susan Bell - It has been my wish to travel and paint the many people and cultures of the world. Raised on a farm in New York until the age of 11, I have seen many aspects of nature. I started out painting landscapes and still life. But my true passion, has been my fascination with people and the human face. I am struck by the innocence and candor of children. My willing subjects have been my grandchildren, much to their delight. There is something about seeing and recognizing your face in a painting. I am drawn to both realistic and abstract expression. It has been a goal in my work to incorporate the two. The many models I have painted have provided inspiration to look for the unique qualities that each of us possesses. It has been recent that I have taken interest in exploring the mystery in the face. Using a building of layers to lend depth and drama has been an exciting process. Committed to learning, my work reflects the wonder I experience daily. My hope is that my work reflects a deeper than skin look into the spirit of the people I do in portraiture. ...
