Artwork Description:
This shed, now torn down, stood on the property of a notable family in my rural neighborhood. This particular intersection of country roads was once the center of the town of Gatchel, Indiana, and boasted a cobbler shop and a blacksmithy, according to local legend. Part of the Hilgenhold family still lives on this site. For years the family raised polled Hereford cattle and plans to go back to doing that because it is in their blood. The door hanging askew bothered the family, but for me, as an artist, it was very interesting visually. Collection Levi Hilgenhold, USAF.
