Artwork Description:
This is an original oil painting on canvas, 107x70cm. What triggered the idea to paint this work and to write the message? It was the death toll of the Titanic disaster - 70% of the total number of people onboard. Then I thought about the End time and here is the parallel: Unfortunately most of the people on the face of the Earth will not make it to heaven.
In the message there is warning, but also solution and hope. Here is the message:
“On the cold night of 15th of April 1912 during her maiden voyage in the North Atlantic the “unsinkable” RMS “Titanic” – one of the largest steamers at the time – went down its graveyard to the ocean floor after striking an iceberg. 70% of the total number of passengers and crew members, which is 1517 out of 2223 - were lost, and only 706 people (30%) were saved. The tragedy of “Titanic” is an amazing prophetic picture of this temporal world we are living in, symbolizing its vanity and futility, and the coming of the Judgment day.
“I tell you ... unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3, and repeated in 13:5).
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and confined is the way which leads to (eternal) life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14).
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
All of the above quotes are the words of Jesus Christ.
Your time on Earth is short, but your decision about Christ will last forever (it will have eternal consequences).
You can pray this prayer, if it is coming from your heart and you really mean it: Heavenly Father, I am coming to You in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge I am a sinner and I need forgiveness. I am turning from sin and coming to You. Jesus Christ, I believe that You shed Your blood and died for my sins, were buried and rose from the dead. Now I ask You to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. Thank You for hearing my prayer and saving me! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen”.
