Artists Describing Their Art:
Gurdas Dua Fiipc Fbaf Hon.apasp - Pictorial is mother of all branches of Photography. So I always have a Pictorial approach towards my subject. When I select my subject matter, my priorities are- 1. Originality of the subject matter. 2. Interest in the subject matter. 3. Composition including lighting on subject. 4. Technique of taking Photograph. 5. Presentation. My Interests are in the field of- Landscapes, Still life, Children, Portraits, Nature, floral and especially Human Interest Photography. My Profession is Advertising & Industrial Photography. I strongly feel that just clicking the shot do not make anybody a photographer, but if one does all the processes like film developing, print making and print finishing or Digital Photo Finishing himself / herself then he or she can be called a photographer. That is the reason I do all the processes myself in mediums like Black & white, Color Negative, Color Positives and Digital etc. ...
Cheryl Dodds - In each of us there is an artist. We have only to allow the art freedom to exist.... I hold both a bachelors and masters degree from The Ohio State University and have also studied art at Ohio University. Currently, I teach art in a high school in Oregon. Previously, I taught art and multimedia in a distance education environment after 14 years in a traditional school. In 2006-2007 I lived in Chiayi, Taiwan and taught English for the Ministy of Education. Art instructors Dennis Adams and Pheoris West have influenced my direction in art. My wish is that you find personal meaning as you view my art....
T. Wiklund - Over the last 30 years I have worked in painting, mixed media, video, collage, assemblage, installations and photography. I continue to work in several media over the same periods - In the recent past it has included digital photography, assemblage, and oil pastel drawings on paper. The digital work in photography is new to me but I have been a photographer for 40 years as well as a traditional collage artist. So I have combined two of my interest in some of the newer photos... My work shown here in assemblage is in general reflective of the times we live in with some references to the ritualism and mysticism of tribal cultures. While the drawings I see as more as'memories of some experience or thought' but like all memories they lie in the past and present.... ...

Jonathan Charles - My medium is art photography. This means there is no claim of documentary realism - the pictures are created to present an idea but based originally on photographs and (mostly) having the style of a photographic image. I work in South West England and he Charente region of France. My subject is an exploration of beauty and dreams - I see more than enough of troubling reality to want to project it further. My work covers 40 years starting with B&W bleak landscapes through abstract nudes, portraits, dance & theatre to the added dimension of colour and emphasis on personal experience and subconscious mythology. I am always improvising, trying to learn from the images and people's reactions to them. My own website is a portal to my longstanding photo.net gallery which includes a lot of background information about the images. I also have a blog which I have just re-activated. I plan to add the stories behind many of my photo series, old and new. More of my work can be seen via my website:

Katja Liedle - Photography is a way of connecting with the world around me, capturing its more unusual nuances from a subjective point of view. This created a style which focuses on colors and forms and highlights tiny details thereby abstracting from everyday reality. focus * motto: close up * natural and other details * colors, forms, structures, patterns * abstractions * experiments with forced and cross processing ...
Emily Reed - I do oil paintings, calligraphy, designs and art photography. Oil paintings emphasize landscapes, water scenes, flowers, animals, birds, bees, butterflies, and occasional portraits. I tend to paint with the seasons, i.e., in winter I do snow scenes, in fall the leaves turning color, in spring pastel trees and spring flowers, and in summer - brilliancy and lush foliage. Recently, I have progressed to doing more photography and editing photos to add designs. My old Nikon Coolpix 950 has seen better days, so I now have a Nikon Coolpix 8800 which is awesome. I love nature shots, flowers, birds, trees, etc. and as always, cats and kittens. I hope you enjoy my photos. Calligraphy is ancient hand printing done on parchment paper using stylized scripts. The calligraphic prayer, bible verse, poem or saying is decorated with hand drawn designs and pictures using different colored inks. ...
