Nancy Overbury is an illustrator who primarily paints watercolor or oil landscapes. Her watercolour paintings are built from wet in wet washes, followed by successive layers of glazing. She is entirely self-taught in the watercolor medium, and has spent the last 15 years refining her skills as a watercolorist, carrying on the tradition of artists in the family including her father Ken Overbury. Overbury is inspired by natures splendor and the fascinating effects of light. She believes in experiencing Nature by exploring forests and mountain ranges in order to add depth and emotion to her works.
